This is a copy of a chair made by Joseph Sly, a renowned cabinet maker between 1835 and 1861.

The reproduction was commissioned by a customer who had five originals but required a set of six. It is made out of Australian red cedar.  Although looking like a simple design, the many slight angles involved in this chair made it a complex chair to reproduce.
